All proceeds will go to LIU student Ali Muyir, brother of P-4 student Jose Muyir and alumnus Hassan Muyir ’03. This past December while many were preparing for finals, ­­­­Ali, a twenty-year-old, Biology major, suffered a great tragedy. While on his way to work late at night on December 18, he tripped off the icy platform and fell into the tracks at one of the “F” train stations in Brooklyn.

Ali survived, but unfortunately, he lost both of his legs and suffered injury to his head and right ring finger. Ali’s life was miraculously spared. He is well, jovial, and hopeful that he will return to class in September 2010. His hospital and healthcare costs are overwhelming for his family and all proceeds from this event will go to help them directly with his recovery.
