The National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) Foundation is pleased to announce the following scholarships for the 2009-2010 academic year:
- J.C. and Rheba Cobb Memorial Scholarship for Excellence in Government Affairs
- Neil Pruitt Sr. Memorial Scholarship for Entrepreneurism
- Presidential Scholarship for Academic and Leadership Excellence
- Willard B. Simmons Sr. Memorial Scholarship for Excellence in Pharmacy Management
- Partners in Pharmacy Scholarship
Student members of NCPA are eligible to apply for ONE of the NCPA Foundation Scholarships per academic year. The student must be enrolled in an accredited U.S. school or college of pharmacy on a full-time basis during the current academic year.
Each applicant must complete an NCPA Foundation and/or Partners in Pharmacy (PIP) scholarship application form. In addition, the following materials must be provided with the completed application:
- Official transcript reflecting coursework from the student's most recent professional semester
- Letter from a school official familiar with the student's activities
- Letter from an independent community pharmacy owner or manager, preferably an NCPA member
- Letter from the applicant to the NCPA Foundation or PIP Scholarship Awards Committee
- Resume or curriculum vitae describing the student's work and professional experience

The NCPA Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization established in 1953 to honor former NARD Executive Secretary John W. Dargavel. Contributions to the NCPA Foundation are tax-deductible to the extent permitted under federal tax law. The Foundation supports the growth and advancement of independent community pharmacy through low-interest educational loans and scholarships to pharmacy students in need, critical research and programs to improve the success of independent pharmacy, and financial assistance to community pharmacy owners for their recovery in the event of disaster, accidents, illness, or adverse circumstances.
